So, I was watching the "teevee" and this ad comes on for Miracle, which is a movie about the 1980 Olympic hockey team that beat the Russians. And they set it up by this big Hollywood baritone voice-over saying "In 1980, America needed heroes..."

And on-screen, there was a montage of all the horrible, depressing things about America that made us need heroes so badly. Arms race...Soviet Union...hostage crisis...oil shortage...terrorism...

...and JIMMY CARTER.

Darn that liberal media!
