On Clarity

As you may or may not know, I'm a librarian, as well as a PhD student in Information Science, and if somebody asked me, "So what would your superpower be?", I say, "information absorption."  And that's exactly what Clarity's superpower is; although, looking at the way he's turned out, maybe I ought to reconsider my own superpower inclinations.

Clarity. He's one of the people I wanted to know about in HoC, why? Because he's interesting, mysterious (up until now) and he has a close friendship to Remy that was reshreshing to HoC.

I always found him a little nerdy but not as much with an ethnic background (call me biased or what ever but I am a hispanic living in the NYC, so his way of speaking just hit me pushed me into that direction;)) And noooww getting more incite on him makes it all clear! I was right! Lol

I was also wrecking my brain on how the hell he kept tabs on Rogue, let alone found her in the first place, I guess once you see that skunk stripe it's hard not to forget it. Incredible, I knew he was a hacker but he's one times a billion, lucky he works with Remy instead of against him, could you imagine if he was captured by those mutant haters... *shivers* Clarity is clarity. He's a machine of perceptiveness, he's just awesome.

His friendship with Gambit is what did it for me. Clarity has that easiness to offset Remys edge (not saying Remy isn't easy going far from it but as of late he's had this certain Jason Bourne syndrome, as I like to say.... Too on edge) he's a light note to a very darkened world they live in. I can see a bit of a bromance there which you barely associate that name to a person such as Remy, but like Rita Gambit needs him, I think and vise versa. Clarity is a hermit without a real life to walk, Remy is his escape to what ever reality they have, keeps him human than a data machine. And well Remy, he doesn't have much close to him let alone friends, there hard to come by in their line of business..

So, you've basically told the rest in your description of our boy Clarity for me... He's great so far and so what Remy needs..

You are such a sweetie! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me! :) I find it interesting that you thought he was Hispanic... Would've been cool to make him so. And just to warn you that I am a Brit, and have never been to NY (or anywhere in the US for that matter, although I'd LOVE to go!) so there are some 'Americanisms' that I'm sure I will get wrong again and again, so... apologies for that. :\

I think you've hit the nail on the head about Clarity being someone Remy needs. I guess that with Clarity around he can just be a normal guy and not this Jason Bourne knock-off... LOL. And I never thought about it before, but yes, Clarity does need a little 'humanity' through Remy. :)

Thanks again, dear, I love the fact that you're uncovering things about the characters I haven't even figured out yet. ;)

*smiles* Don't worry about the un-american tendencies you may feel you are writing "wrong", you've done an outstanding job with this fic as well as your previous ones thus far ;) NYC is so full of different cultures, ethinicities that it makes you feel like your taking a trip to different country at every turn you make, only to realize you never left the city! So really there are no true mistakes to be done here, to me, "american" is just the way to live not the way you act or how your raised.. *shrugs* If you ever do take a trip, the states are real nice especially during the holidays, very cheerful! New York is where is at! (Yes! I am showing favoritism) lol

Soooo, yeah, I did think Clarity was ethnic, he had that vibe I familarized myself with a lot :) Him and Remy need eachother like astronauts need gravity.. To ground themselves...

Didn't you know that sometimes you can't uncover certain elements you create whether it's the writing or art because your so focused on the specifics that the littlest of detail goes unnoticed...

That is very true. Sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees when you're looking at something up close. ;)

My brother's been to New York and he loved it. One day I'll finally get the time (and money) to go. :)
