Another semester is about to end. It seems strange that I'm now half-way through. Kind of. If I only get a masters, I'll have another 4 years ahead of me. I don't want to grow up and live in a world without 4 weeks of Winter Break, and the option to bum around for 3 months in the summer.
I think I'm going to miss having an Honors class every semester. For all that I've bitched about paper writing, the conversations were largely interesting and the workload was much less intense than my other classes. I will also miss the unbelievable amount of space in my apt. for the low price. I doubt UK will allow for this to happen again.
For all that, I am looking forward to spending the next 4 weeks with Dan, with nothing more to do than sleep in and occasionally review C++ syntax and whatnot. But, it's perhaps too early to live in the future with the impending exams and papers of this coming week.
I signed my summer lease yesterday. And wrote a check for $925. It's odd to have the power to write away so much money all at once. This would make me feel more an adult if my "landlords" hadn't immediately mailed a form to my mother to make sure that it's okay with her if I live with boys.
This past weekend, I went down to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt's Rites of Spring. I saw Blue Merle, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Gov't Mule and Ben Folds. Blue Merle impressed me, Gov't Mule bored me a little, and Ben Folds frightened me with his rendition of something from Dr. Dre involving bitches.
I also nearly died on the highway. If it's raining and I can't see 10 feet ahead of my car, I don't want to go the 70 mph speed limit. Truck drivers didn't seem to understand this, and I think one tried to run me off the road (that or he couldn't see me because of the rain). Between gas prices and my fear of dying in a car crash, I think I'm going to lay off the driving for a while.
