And so it begins

Happy New Year! Here are some things that have happened this break:

1. I've realised an intense love of board games. I am currently infatuated with the Settlers of Catan and am considering further updating my board game collection. I hear the Princes of Florence is good, as is Diplomacy...although the latter demands 5 people to play (at minimum).

2. Dan and I have started hanging out every night between the hours of 8pm and 4am. I have really started to hate driving at night.

3. It was a very domestic Christmas for me. I got a blender, a tea-maker (like a coffee maker), tea, whisks, and a sound machine. I also received a pair of Crocs and I have yet to take them off. They're like slippers you can wear everywhere!

4. I finished the new Game of Thrones book (A Feast for Crows). I am unhappy with the idea that I will have to wait for two more books to be published before I can find out what happens to the characters in this book. But I'm glad that because the material for the next book was originally going to be in the most recent book I won't have to wait long for the next one to hit the shelves. Patience is not my strong suit.

5. I saw King Kong. I'm not sure how I feel about the intentional cheesiness of some aspects of the movie. I understand they were put in as an homage to the old movie, but I'm not sure they were warranted. At least Jackson makes it easily known that the cheesiness was intentional, but "...twas beauty killed the beast" ?!?!?!?!?! As the last line?!?!?!? Too much.

6. A week and a half away from the start of the new semester and I've started to dread it. All I want to do with my days is play board games, eat on the hour, read a bit and hang out with Dan. None of these things will be able to be done easily once the semester starts.

7. I no longer want to be a veterinarian. After spending a couple of days at the Animal Clinic and realising that all vets do all way long is spay and neuter pets, I've decided that it's not a very rewarding career. The new plan is nuclear engineering.

8. Mr. Cox apparently pushed some bastard and was suspended from teaching for 10 days. He's such a badass. My hero. Really.

Question: Say you have people coming to visit who have never been to Kentucky...you have 3 days. Where do you take them? Preferable locations are to be near Lexington and Louisville.
