So I was going to be moving to my new apartment on Thursday, my Aunt & Uncle rented a van for the occasion, and were going to come over at noon to help me move. I hear a knock just after 12, open the door, and who is there but my DAD.
I screamed so loud! He FLEW TO TORONTO TO SURPRISE ME & to help me move... of all the thoughtful, ridiculous, insane and wonderful things... he's probably #1. I can't even believe it.
My new apartment is sooo nice, too! It feels so home-y already, I'm so happy! It feels so good to have a space that is only mine. And I am beating the system and getting free basic cable! I can walk out of my door and be right in Trinity Bellwoods Park! So I think I'm going to buy rollerskates and start skating through the park and then down by the lakeshore, listening to my headphones. RETROCITY.
So then Dad decided to rent a car (which ended up being a PIMP'D PT Cruiser) and wanted to go on a mini-road trip, cos that's what we like to do...
So we drove out to a place where we could be massed by annoying tourists with obnoxious cameras
And no social anxiety whatsoever
NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO (Marineland wasn't the place to go, so we didn't go.)
On that boat are a million people paying $20 each to be herded like cattle with their free RAIN PONCHOS to be closer to the falls for 5 mins. Dad & I pointed and laughed.
Hooray for asking a boy scout to take our happy picture.
Hooray for tourism.
Hooray for my Dad buying me a boat!
Hooray for psych-ing you out!
Hooray for Niagara Falls, what a success.
Now today we took my beloved be-so-lovely Commuter Six bicycle in to get the brake fixed, because I crushed it with my almighty-ness. The bike mechanic said that the Commuter Six was rusted through and everything in its being was about to break and that it was time to retire it, as he didn't feel safe putting it back on the road. I thought that all would be lost, until in the corner of the store, I spotted it. My $40 banana seat purple WILDFLOWER. It has those beads on the spokes of the wheel so it makes little thunking noises. Do not be fooled by it's sissyness, it truly is a zippy little monster.
Things are going really well. Dad & I have been playing my favourite game, "Pizza & Drunk" and watching Woody Allen movies. He's probably one of my closest friends. It's way awesome.
Once he leaves:
1) "Getting Over Robert"
2) Finding a film PA job
3) Making new friends
4) Going to the library a lot
5) Writing, writing, writing (and rollerskating in the park, I guess)
C'est tout! (oh and French classes, ha ha)
