I'm drinking coffee in a youth hostel in Eilat. I look out the window, and the mountains in front of me are in another country. Jordan is incredibly beautiful - the hills rolling, the colours incredible in Petra, the dates delicious at roadside stands.

I just missed the bus to Tel Aviv, so I'm waiting for the next one. Eilat has run its course, and I'm tired of being in a semi-abandoned resort town out of season.

Went snorkeling in the red sea 2 days ago and have a newfound appreciation for marine life.

I can't think in coherent sentences at this moment, but I'm starting to miss my pets, my friends, my bed, familiar food, knowing my way around a city's public transit system, understanding the language... I'm heading out to the West Bank later this week, so I'm sure I'll have lots to report on visiting occupied stateless territory.
Need to find 4 other people to go with me though... tours won't go if you are less than 5. :(

Lots of issues to work out when I get home, but it's nice to have a complete break from reality at the moment. I'm not even too sure what day it is today.

Salaam.
