ZUMBA Instructor Conference - Los Angeles - SUNDAY

Feb 17, 2013 23:50

Couldn't believe today was the last day.  We packed up all our shopping (we had gone back to the Zumbawear Store twice more over the weekend) and all our belongings to take down to the storage at the hotel because we had to check out at 11 and we wouldn't be done with classes until 4.

The DASH wasn't running so we had to walk to the convention center (8 blocks = 15 minutes or so).  My first class was Hawaiian Dreams with Madeline Aponte.  All that hula stuff made my thighs burn.  I was sooooo tired.  I tried my best to hang in there especially during the Tahitian dances.  That stuff is HARD!! By the time I finished I was ready to lie down.  I met up with Shirley and Isabel who had taken Hip Hop and we had lunch -- yep.. more sandwiches. We had a longer break than usual between these two classes so we went to the Zumba store for a while (pretty much everything had been picked clean) and then went to sit outside at some lunch tables.  I actually fell asleep at the table because my body was exhausted.

Good thing I napped because I had Hip Hop next.  The girls warned me that there were lots of little intricate moves  but it was super fun.  Michael Thomas who just appeared in our ZIN DVD last month was the trainer. A cool surprise here was that Eric Aglia, my favorites Zumba Jammer was co-teaching.  George Lu (who I really wanted to meet) was not able to make it from Hong Kong.  But to have Eric there was very cool.  I love his choreography and his energy is magnetic.  Somehow I made it through the afternoon dancing all out in this final class.  I don't know what got into me but I was really pumped.

Once it was all over, we changed our clothes and headed back to the hotel to pick up the car.  What an experience!!! We took Shirley back to the Thai restaurant (Red Corner Asia) before heading home.  It was the best way to end our trip.  The drive back went smoothly and we arrived safely.

Monday -- I slept and slept some more.  Then I got up practiced some choreography, then slept some more.  In between all that I finished up a homework assignment I didn't do over the weekend and turned it in late.
