City Gnome

Already since the beginning of May this had been the plan of Jobbe - to rebuild a garden gnome so it could float on water. He asked whether I would help him with that plan..
Due to a lot of construction issues, it was finally Gnome Day on last Sunday. We waited for dusk, and hauled the gnome and a 17 kg weight to the canal downtown. While I smoked a cigar and took some photos, Jobbe went in the cold stinking water to place our red-hooded friend. At night, a single streetlight in the area shines its light exactly on our gnome. Beautiful. Job well done.
Had great fun, showered the smell off of him and went celebrating with Remco and Ellen afterwards with some Dutch gin.
Already the town is wondering why all of the sudden this gnome has appeared, and what the reasoning behind it could possibly be... Just how we planned it. Great!
