Happy Halloween!!
Here's a few Halloween treats that I love to watch every year and wanted to share! This is one of my favorite holidays so it's very hard to pick just a few, but I limited myself to just three. Each clip leads to the rest of the special. I love "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin" also! But these are little more unique I suppose. I also have been rewatching the Pirates of the Caribean and Harry Potter movies this week and will continue this weekend in honor of the holiday. There are childhood favorites though, which bring back so many great memories of the holiday through the years.
Enjoy and have a spooky and candy filled Halloween! Boooo!
- Garfield Halloween with the Candy Song and What Should I be? I have this on order from Amazon. It was only seven dollars, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Sadly, it's not here yet, so I'll have to rewatch this weekend or next week. It features Halloween PIRATE ghosts, which I know should be really appealing for many of you and Garfield himself goes a a pirate. Arrr, what could be better, matey? www.youtube.com/watch
- Disney Halloween Treat, this was a special they showed on the Disney Channel in the 80s. It has lots of great classic Disney clips with scary moments, including my favorite Donald Duck cartoon about trick or treating that features the witches lines from MacBeth! When I think about Halloween, I often find myself humming the lyrics of this title song.www.youtube.com/watch
- Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The classic short story by Washington Irving, sung and told by Bing Crosy and brought to life as a charming and still very scary cartoon. This scared me to death when I was a kid and I loved it! My American Lit kids always love this and I usually cheat and move Irving up whatever point we are in the Rev. War Lit unit or The Crucible to read it during Halloween week and watch this on the actual holiday. Opinions vary widly as to what happened to Ichabod of course and I assign them to write an investigative news story exploring what they think. Watch out for the Headless Horseman and make for the bridge, my friends! www.youtube.com/watch
Ah, nostalgia! I need to get busy and clean my house and hunt for some reporting forms I have to send in to the school district, Ah, nostalgia. I'm going to watch more Halloween stuff. I have Monster Squad from Netflix which I really haven't seen since the 80sbut that'll all have to wait for tomorrow. Tonight, it's Halloween. What do all of you love and rewatch every year? I'd love some recs in return!
