Tonight (Saturday night, but I have yet to sleep), I went with my roommate, Sam, Art, and his roommate, Nick, to a drag queen cabaret show at a place called Hamburger Mary's. At first, Sam and I were kind of upset because two of the people whose company we had anticipated decided they couldn't make it at the last minute, but Art got Nick to fill in, and the night turned out to be hilarious and a ton of fun.

The restaurant was pretty casual, so Sam and I dressed as such in jeans and tops just a hair classier than t-shirts. When we went to pick up Nick and Art, they were dressed like this, which freaked us out, thinking we might be under-dressed, but it just turned out that Art wanted to be ridiculous and be overly-dressy and convinced Nick similarly. In keeping with the classy theme, we found a classy flight of stairs in downtown Orlando and took the photo on it.

This was the cabaret hostess. She was hilarious and bitchy. Our table was right in front of the stage, so she picked on us a lot, specifically Art, making him hold her drink. She paid me attention, too, saying "Oh, fuck you," when I didn't have a dollar for tipping her enormous boobs.

This drag queen lip-synched to "Big, Blonde, and Beautiful."

My favorite one was this one, who started out dressed as Velma Kelly from the musical Chicago and only got better as the show progressed.

This woman was ridiculously drunk and kept running up to the stage to tip the drag queens.

They were really into crowd interaction.

A dramatic Bette Midler impersonation.

Velma Kelly came back as Joan Jett! She lip-synched to I Love Rock and Roll.

She was badass and had hot shoes.

She loved Art and even stayed still with him long enough for me to get a photo. The difficulty in taking pictures all night was that the performers were constantly waving about, so a lot of my photos came out blurry, so Joan Jett staying still was a blessing.

Oh, notice the fedora that Art is wearing? Sam and I both agreed that the drag queens were absolutely going to go after it. Sure enough, the Joan Jett impersonator interacted with it, deliberately running her hand across it.

She kissed Art! (Alas, I wasn't quick enough for the tongue-on-cheek action).

Srsly, they were all amazing.

At the end, they pulled Art on stage with them. Sam had my camera and tried to quickly take a photo, but people started crowding the stage for the following meet and greet, so this is the best we got.

After the show, we really liked this sign.

I got to wear the fedora on the car ride back.

Art, at the end of the night, looking smug. For good reason.
