I'm going to let Amy's recount of the trip to Seattle/Portland stand in for the next part of my travelogue. Cuz I never got around to it and she did a really great job narrating our adventure : ) See Below.
I haven't even uploaded the pix yet because I'm so overwhelmed with getting ready to move and trying to find a job so I'm not poor and dependent after I move.
Upcoming: Part 4! Brock's visit here for 4th of July weekend. Part 5! Then we're meeting in NYC this weekend to visit his sister.

Last day, Lucy went to the airport 8 hours early and I almost missed my flight. Lucy and I went on an underground tour of Seattle. Lots of history, spiders, and hookers (not really, just stories about hookers). An excellent tour, minus the spiders. Gum wall, fish market, original Starbucks.
Last night in Seattle, scarey little hotel. Maybe had spiders, not sure. Slept with one eye open. Everyone lived.
Saturday we woke up in Portland and went to a cooler than average craft/food/vendor fair. Everyone brought their dogs. Then, we drove all day and into the night so we could say we saw the Oregon coast and drove part of the most scenic highway in the U.S. 101. We drove down a bridge that felt more like a rollercoaster (and I know rollercoasters). It seems to me that one of us knew this was coming. It was not the driver. Uh hem.
Friday night in a high class Motel 6--recently renovated. Not bad.
Friday drove up to Mt. St. Helens and thought it was more beautiful at every turn. Lowlight was a 2 1/2 hour bus ride to pick up the rental car. Started the day with a trip up the Space Needle. Had to do it.
Thursday night slept like babies in a fancy Residence Inn at a low price, thanks to Priceline. Needlesstosay, we found out what $60 actually buys you in Seattle (refer to the last night). Soaked in the hot tub before bed. Went to a super cool music and sci-fi museum touting a Battlestar Galactica display. Lucy and I define our own sense of coolness. It's good that we have high self esteems. Started the mid-day together with a lovely lunch at a monkey themed piano bar. We ate at the piano.
