Dear Universe
Please stop making people in my life sick.
An old girlfriend of mine's sister passed away, last week, from cervical cancer. Today, I found out that another friend has a nasty melanoma on her chest. I went to her BABY shower on Sunday. She mentioned she was going for a mole check. We don't know her prognosis, just yet, as they want to wait till the baby comes to do xrays and all that, to see if it was caught before spreading.
I just made an appointment for Jack to recheck his nodes. I am really nervous about it, as the 1st node that we noticed, a few months back, has now doubled in size. However, he has not been sick and his appetite has been really great. actually, though, the fact that he has not been sick is not a good sign, as the doctor thought there was a chance that the swelling was just a reaction to being sick, reactive nodes. If he hasnt been sick then that diagnosis doesnt fit.
We went to San Antonio, and went to the zoo and to the children's museum. The zoo is great, lots of shade and air conditioned places to duck into. They have an amazing array of birds. Only 1 lonely elephant, girrafe and leopard, though. No gorillas. Jack and I really enjoyed feeding the lorikeets.
We used priceline and got into the Radisson for $50, and used coupons, and puclic transportation to get everywhere, so it was a fairly cheap trip.
Doanld is still unemployed. The job market is abyssmal. The silver lining is that we should be able to get medicaid for Jack. Our appointment is Monday, to find out if we qualify.
