A Really Good Day
4 women + 10 lbs of butter, 2 bags of brown sugar and 2 bags of XXX sugar =
several hundred cookies in 9 different varieties.
I'm exhausted.
I spent the whole day making cookies with some of my friends, and we had a blast! We divided the spoils between us. We made so many types of cookies that I can hardly keep track of them all...let's see...we made coconut snow balls, iced sugar cookies, butter cookies shaped like flowers with maraschino cherry centers, ginger snaps with crystallized ginger, 3 different types of oatmeal bars - raspberry, apricot and strawberry, chocolate pecan cherry chunk, and oatmeal-rasin cookies...I think that covers it...
Oh yeah, there were also a couple of batches that didn't turn out...something to do with double portions of ingredients and only a single portion of flour...but overall, I'd say we had a good haul!
Now I have to figure out what to do with all of them! It looks like I will be mailing a lot of cookies to my friends and family in Florida.
And now, I'm wrapping up the evening with a cocktail and a viewing of "To Have and Have Not".
