I am so tired.
today after working all night I came home and slept five hours, and then went to see "Sherlock Holmes."
I enjoyed it a lot - I think it's made me love Jude Law again, after being disappointed in him for years (I loved him circa "Gattaca," then his personal life seemed much more important/interesting than any of his movies, but I was won over in "The Holiday"). RDJ is always a favourite, and he was grand, and it was a ripping story with only a few bits that seemed a little long/filler-ish, and Rachel McAdams is always great, and the story wasn't too ridiculous. the action set-pieces are the best bits, and the _clothes_, omg the clothes!
I hate the new theatre in Belleville, though - it's supposed to be "stadium seating" now, but it isn't nearly as nice as the theatre in Kingston, and it was absolutely packed and I had to sit too close, in the fith row, and I can't see properly unless I'm in the middle of the theatre at least, so I definitely have to see it again when I don't feel like a sardine in a tin with people asking me idiotic questions and climbing over my lap like lemurs the entire time. I know if it had been less busy I would have enjoyed myself more.
then I had to whip home and get my things ready to take to the family Xmas party at my brother's. it was fun, I stayed for four hours, and my stepmonster and dad, after making their declaration that the only presents they needed was to see us (thus cancelling gift-giving), didn't even show up! gah. still, I gave out all of my boxes and ate lots of finger food and chatted and laughed a lot and now I'm exhausted. except, as I'm leaving for Toronto tomorrow, I have to clean up the house a bit. and I think I need to eat a turkey sammich, because I have lots of leftover turkey I'm going to have to wrap and freeze tomorrow before I leave for Toronto, and my kitchen and dining room are both totally written off. and, really, I should throw in some laundry but screw it, I have enough clean underwear and I can stop at the mothership on my way out of town and pick up some more tights.
so, yes. overall a good day. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday already, though, yeep.
