was "Ninja Assassin."
I didn't know anything at all about this movie going in, other than the title. and, really, if you're going to a movie named "Ninja Assassin," do you really need to know anything other than the title?
anyway, it was absolutely bloodier than hell - when one of the bad guys got _half_ of his head cut off within the first five minutes, I know it was going to be a bloodbath. and, really, although I am not a gore-fanatic, it didn't bother me that much. (or, well, I managed to watch through the corners of my eyes a lot, and it was really so OTT that it was kind of hilarious after a while.) beyond the gorgeous that was Rain and the sadly short-lived Sung Kang (srsly, can he do a movie and live? please?), there was totally unexpected Ben Miles, which was awesome, because he was half of my OTP on "Coupling," and the lead girl, Naomie Harris, was sort of awesome, too. (Rick Yune is another one I would like to see not playing a bad guy, please.) so, yeah, it was basically a tsunami of blood, but I've definitely seen worse movies with way less eye-candy in them in my time.
now I am home, sitting and having a drink and catching up on my email before I fall on my face in bed. I better sleep in tomorrow, man.
