I am the most spoiled EVER. omg, I got my Xmas box from
alexandriabrown today, and holy crap. so. SPOILED. she got me:
- both seasons of "Criminal Minds" (omg MORGAN/REID 4EVA!)
- the "CM" novel
- Nigella Express: 130 Recipes for Good Food, Fast
- "300" (hard-core gay warnography!)
- "The Lake House" (omg I love this movie SO MUCH. Keanu/Sandy are so my otp 4eva.)
- tons of "Shojo Beat"s
- the first issue of "Heroes" magazine
- a whole bunch of lotions and lip balm
- the softest, fuzziest, cuddliest sleep socks evar
- a bright pink chenille bathrobe!
it's all just amazing and lovely and I am so spoiled. I totally feel like a princess in my pink fuzzy robe and snuggly socks. :D *loves Alex* and we both miraculously managed to get our Xmas boxes to each other before Xmas! (although my other package for her isn't going to get there until after, sigh.)
this morning after work, I delivered the last of my baking and gift boxes, and collected the rest of my money - $156, not too shabby. I was going to collapse in bed, but it wasn't doing anything outside, so I decided that I should bring in more wood, since my wood room was almost empty. that, of course, entailed my shovelling a path through two-foot crusty snow drifts just to get to the woodshed, and then pushing three wheelbarrows full of wood inside. omg, my toe hurt _so badly_ by the time I was done, it was just throbbing. I thought I was going to cry. but I needed the wood, and it's all in now, so I can have heat for another week. I finally collapsed in bed at around 2.
got up at 5.30, showered, and went to town to get my Xmas shopping done. there was a nasty SUV/van collision on the main road to the mall, but other than that, it wasn't horrible anywhere I went - I got parking spots without circling fifty times, and I got in and out of all of the stores without waiting for more than one person ahead of me at the register. I got gift cards for my neices and nephew, enough supplies to make a couple more boxes of hand-dipped chocolates for my dad and stepmonster, and a bunch of lottery scratch tickets to tuck into Xmas cards, so I'm all done. it's just so much easier that way - I'm also going to box up more cookies and give those out. we don't do a lot for Xmas in my family - everyone has their own families and kids, and there's so many of us that there's no way to buy for everyone, so I get gifts for my dad and stepmonster, and the brother and his gf and kids, and everyone else gets baking. :)
I got lovely Xmas cards this week from Pumpkin and Terri, so thank you, ladies! they were lovely, and they're making my bookshelf in the living room look Xmassy and cheery.
I also got all the rest of the stuff for my Xmas dinner - cranberries, gravy (from a can, baby! I can't make gravy to save my life), brussel sprouts (must have green balls), and potatoes. and cream cheese to make a cheesecake - they had fresh cherries on sale everywhere I went, so I took that as a sign that I was meant to make one for Xmas dessert. I ran into my second-oldest brother and his gf at the mothership, and they invited me over tomorrow night for our annual family Xmas party. heee, nothing like advance notice! it happens that way every year, though. I'm probably going to go over there for a few hours, as long as the weather isn't doing anything nasty - we might get torrential rain, so I'll have to see.
and I totally won $11 on a scratch ticket, too. I'd say this day was definitely made of enormous amounts of win. now I think I'm going to attempt to clean the kitchen and see if I can make it not look like a hurricane hit, and then curl up in bed with Sandy and Keanu and have happy dreams. and other than the party tomorrow night? this weekend is made for sleeping, watching dvds, and possibly trying to finish some of the stories I have on the go. I can't think of any better way to spend a (pre) holiday.
