Dear Friends,
We all have our woes. Our trials, tribulations, troubles, torments, & tempests. At times we all see ourselves as less worthy or deserving. At times we all grow ill with the plague of how insufferable we see ourselves. Weeping and helpless- we all know these times.
We all get in a hurry. With our shopping carts full of conundrums, and our pocketbooks full of doubt. The easing of fears seems to be harder and harder to perform. Minds grow dense with fog; hearts are heavy with worry.
Why, of all times of the year, do these things rise up from their deep places? Having kept them stored in the sod so long, eventually they break out, root deeper, reach higher. With lumps in our throats that were once our throbbing hearts we drone on. And for what purpose?
Because it is what we do. We know, despite our seeping sewage sorrows, that we were all meant for something more. Something meaningful. Something real. Something...like magic.
We all know that there have to be the times where we feel utterly helpless and alone. We know that we can survive them, because we have all been thru them before. Collectively, and individually, our hearts & souls have been wizened by these woeful ventures. So why we feel like dirt today, we grow on, so that we might be flowers tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the national day of Giving Thanks. I urge you, please, do not fall into despair so deep you cannot see the sun or the stars. Believe that there will soon be daylight. Be thankful- not just for the good that will befall you- but for the storms that have come your way as well. Each day is a moment to give thanks. No matter where we are, be it muck or mire or field of wildflowers, there is something astounding & astonishing to behold. Just like us. All of us.
I realize that as you read this we may know next to nothing of one another. But believe me when I say that I know this one thing- You Are Nothing Short of Rapture.
Happy Thanksgiving!
