Ok! Well I'm now well into my 28th year and am gradually adapting to the number.
In other news my birthday was pretty low-key (by request), and was spent hanging out at home, watching Little House on the Prairie and Jurassic Park. Instead of a birthday cake I asked for a two-bite brownie tower. This was accomplished with great skill, red wine, and miniature figures of ourselves made out of marshmallows (It was a joint effort). Turns out two-bite brownie towers are delicious!
Last weekend as part of my birthday celebrations Sean and I went to the Vancouver Aquarium for a Sea-Otter Encounter (or as I like to call it, Sea Otter Extravaganza or Awesome Adventure with Otters). There were 6 people on the tour altogether and it was all kinds of wicked! First our guide took us to a back room where we learned all about otters - interesting facts such as:
Sea Otters have the densest fur in the animal kingdom! If you were to put your thumb on a sea otter you'd be covering over 100,000 hairs! Then we went to the animal kitchen where we helped prepare one of the many sea otter dinners throughout the day. We all got to shove our hands into a bucket of razor clams and put it on a scale. Excellent. After we washed our hands we were taken to the sea otter exhibit where we got to go behind the scenes and FEED THE OTTERS. Granted, there was a big thing of glass between us, it's not like I could jump in and cuddle the little guy (I wish). I could blather on about sea otters but instead I'll leave you with a picture of me feeding Milo instead.
To conclude - Sea Otters truly are the kittens of the sea. (I am now the owner of Sea Otter Socks, mug, magnet, and re-usable bag(with otters on it).
Work stuff is still up in the air, but I'm still using up my 20 days so I'm keeping my head low and waiting for any news.
Oh! And now I'm waiting for supper time because my sister is flying in for the weekend to hang out! Wahoooooooo!! I love sister visits! They're the coolest! We don't need much to keep us entertained, so far we've penciled in Guitar Hero and making bread.
Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks....
Remember a while back I mentioned I had gone out with some old highschool friends? Well here we are, before the 3rd bottle of wine.
