This May I will be getting my 1st apartment by myself.

Although I feel very smug about my beautiful washer & dryer, I have very little furniture. I will need to buy some.

And what's with $900/mo for a 1 bedroom?! How do I get a voucher for that? Seriously, rent it a little dumb.

I would really appreciate any help that I can get at all. Sometimes looking for apartments can be so daunting!

I preferably would like to live uptown, as it is the area of town in which I am most comfortable.

This is what I am looking for:
1 bedroom/1bath
-dishwasher and hopefully a garbage disposal
-big closet/some kind of storage space
-hardwood floors (no carpet)
-tall ceilings (no basement apartments)
-some sort of safety thing, either good neighborhood or off-street parking or alarm.... one if not all of those.

Finding anything less than $700 is pretty hard, but finding something nice in the $700-$800 range is easy. I wouldn't think of paying $900 for a 1 bedroom because you can find fantastic 2brs for $1,000 if you take the time to look.
