The DUCF is back! With a holiday twist!

Nov 10, 2006 13:23

Yahoooooo! Or should I say, "Happy Holidays?!"

That's right, the lovely folks ::cough, us, cough:: who brought you this summer's "it" event (DUCF, anyone?) are pleased to present the 2006 Handmade Detroit Holiday Market Saturday, Dec.9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Detroit's own Magic Stick! And, per usual, there's no cover! (This is your cue to call grams and gramps and see what they're up to that day...)

Make sure your calendar is cleared now and that you're rounding up that loose change for a run to the nearest Coinstar. This holiday bonanza (I've been dying to type that word) is much, MUCH more than your standard craft fair. Get yourself ready for music (most likely of the "happy" and "holiday" kinds), make-and-take tables (did someone say audience participation?!), and a variety of unique gift ideas from some of Detroit's coolest makers, both crafters and artisans alike. Not to toot my own horn here, but this really is the place to be on Dec. 9. So, TOOT, TOOT!

Our holiday presentation is scaled-back "greatest hits" of this summer's fair. We're still looking for a very small number of DIY vendors. If you'd like to apply, we will be taking "quickie" applications with an absolute deadline of Tuesday, Nov. 14th.

To apply, send the following information to handmadedetroit@yahoo.com:
  • Your name
  • The name of your company/organization/group
  • A description of the items you plan to sell AND their price range
  • 2-3 photos of your goods, or a web link

Vendor space is $25 (A BARGAIN!) and non-refundable upon acceptance and payment.

We are particularly interested in crafters or artists who make bath and body products, silk-screened posters, or unusual/unique items ... but we encourage everyone who makes or creates to apply!

(Please note that no vintage re-sale or mass-produced goods will be accepted.)

Are you excited?! Are you super-relieved that all your holiday shopping needs will be filled with one convenient trip to the Magic Stick?! Not to worry, you can thank us later ;)

Make sure to stay tuned to this here blog and all of our other webby outlets for updates.
