Fever Sure Has Got Me Good
Oh Hello there.
Yes, it has been forever.
I never thought there was anything interesting enough going on for me to broadcast it through lj. But tonight, im extraordinarily happy. And its because of kylie minogues Ultimate Kyle dvd collection. oh. and my 930p bloody mary. oh. and the fact that i had a spare evening to clean. frantically. Like...Lifetime-original-made-for-tv-movie-trying-to-depict-madness type of frantic cleaning. Ive realized that what someone may so euphemistically or politely call "creative chaos" may just actually be "disgusting." Im not promising that itll stay this way. But at least i have had the chance to today to reset.
And im testing out a little optimism in relation to my work. Weve all been treated to over 12grand of desperately needed updates and equipment. After UR has spent 6+ years of trudging through our vintage circuit boards on os9, quark 4, illustrator 8, photoshop 6, were now each holding hands with an imac g5 and skipping through fields of adobe cs2 and extensis. oh. and ive personally been abducted by a sibling company, to now do majority of the design work for Hydrate, X/O, Joy Blue, Crush (Mix), and Cherry Red. This COULD be hell. This could be shitty. This could be abusive. This could be demoralizing. But i get a HUGE cubicle-ish workspace with a window facing south- and quite a bit of wall space to tack fun things up to. Optimism. Its this new thing im trying out. Oh, im also trying out "setting myself up for disappointment." Whats that you say? Yes, yes. "woot" indeed.
