I know for some of us, -21C might not be that cold...but it feels pretty nippy today! I'm glad I parked in the garage last night.
I have a game going with a friend of mine: we can't spend money (frivolously) for three months. We started on January 3rd. It is HARD! That means no coffee on the way to school, no pop from the vending machine, no bought lunches, no impulse buys in the book store (only course material allowed)...you get the picture. It is REALLY hard. I can't impulse shop for my kids, either! We sat down and thought about what we might "think" we need over the next three months and couldn't come up with anything. Necessities are allowed, like food and shampoo etc, regular maintenance things, but no make up or new hair products or scarves. She wants to buy my purple bike at the end of the three months (her husband is planning on getting it for her birthday) and she wants to prove to herself that she can budget. I just want to see how much 'nickle and dime' buying I do. I'm keeping track of all the times I've almost made purchases. So far I'm at about $30, three coffee, a water, an interesting book, and a lunch bag for one of my daughters, oh wait, add $20 for a hat (which I'm getting at the end of three months).
J'ai perdu mon cahier.
