Vision of A Norse God: Njord

After the last two months... I've just crashed personally.

THANKS, MOM!

I'm trying to avoid ruminating too much about all the challenges. Knowing I've successfully faced most of them doesn't make it much easier to face failing others. So... I distract myself as best I can most of my free time.

Meditating through "emptiness" isn't usually my thing, but I've used it a few times recently because the noise in my head is too much some days. It's been a while since I've actually received a vision in such a way, but very surprisingly-- I got one this week!

It began almost like a dream, though I was wide awake. I saw a bunch of towering people-- it looked like chalk and pastel artwork, honestly! I could look up at the people above me, and they had me circled. I realized by their dress that they were Norse, and maybe even the gods. I hadn't been asking about them, just doing some research on them through books I'd recently purchased, so it wasn't completely oddball, but I was none-the-less quite surprised. There was no sound, only images.

I decided to follow along and see where the vision took me.

I asked what they wanted. The circle pulled back and ONE male knelt and faced me directly. He reached out a hand. I took it (and was greatly amused that my hand in the vision was also this pretty stylized artwork) and he "pulled" me "up" and showed me coastlines, and ships, and sea birds-- I didn't know which god that was, but I was being shown this was indeed a god.

Okay... now what? I asked him, for I knew I could look up the god of coastlines and shipping later quite easily.

He showed me going to an area of my room and grabbing a certain thing (which I couldn't see) that fit into my hand. Then he showed me going to the state park across the street and tossing said thing into the ocean at high tide. When it landed in the water, a few seconds later, a seagull landed beside it and called out. I couldn't hear anything, but lines came out of the mouth of the bird, so it was pretty obvious. I realized then that this god wanted me to make him an offering, and the seagull landing next to it and calling out would be a sign it was accepted. Then the vision ended abruptly!

And... that was weird!

I mean, in my life, it's a matter of degree, but this came out of left field. I wasn't looking yet to connect to any gods, though it's on my long-term agenda, so why here and now I couldn't say.

But-- okay. At some point very soon, I need to find something from my room to sacrifice to this god!

Which, I looked up, would be Njord. It's pronounced "Nyord" like if you say "Senor" in Spanish without the "se" but adding a "d" to the end. Besides the obvious coastal and shipping connection, Njord also helps people with overwhelming emotional distress! I laughed out loud to read that!
