Finally got an update on Tami! One of her daughters said she's improved a little and is stable. She must stay in the hospital until she's completely out of the woods, but it looks likely that she'll survive. I didn't hear if she was put on a ventilator or not. I don't know how conscious she is but it doesn't look like Covid will kill her ( Read more... )

SOOOO you know what I learned when I got a cold the other week?

The Delta virus MIMICS mild head cold symptoms in vaccinated people a lot MORE than original COVID did! I.e. Delta triggers a bunch of nasal problems, unlike earlier COVID... making it much easier to mistake for allergies and colds.

Here's one article but I lost a better one

"To be clear, Spector said the Delta variant shows up exactly like a cold. That means people experience a headache, runny nose and sore throat to begin."

Or https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/most-common-symptoms-delta-variant-160114346.html
"A runny nose was the #2 most reported symptom by fully vaccinated and partially vaccinated people, and the #3 most common symptom in the unvaccinated. Earlier in the pandemic, a runny nose was thought to be unrelated to coronavirus infection.

And symptoms similar to a cold, allergy or more minor respiratory issue seem to be more common with Delta, particularly among the vaccinated. "

Fun times

Thank you for the information!

ALL of us had runny noses and sinus headaches (mine just got worse and took over half my skull for a while there.)

Cat's ONLY symptoms were a slightly runny nose and her blood sugar spiking for no reason (which it does when her immune system is triggered, not just by food intake.)

Mike also had a runny nose and headache with a slight fever for 2 days.
