More quotes. (part 2/3)
"I cannot- lady, I cannot- bear to see Arthur again like this. I cannot meet him, and know- and see Briant in his company, in his favour..." He was growing incoherent, and made himself stop, a hand pressed to his lips.
"You love Arthur very much," Alienor said.
"He is the air I breath, my life's blood-" He broke off, horrified. He had never admitted so much, even to Gawain. He took a shuddering breath. "When he sent me away, I thought I sould die."

"Kay's ring," Arthur said.
"I promised to keep it for him, until he comes again."
Arthur sighed and passed his hands over his face. "You were always so sure. Sure enough to offer your life." His eyes were bleak. "I grew up with Kay. But I was not sure." He paused, and then said abruptly. "Will you give me the ring?"
Gawain esistated[...]
"That's not a command, I would not command you this, Gawain. But I should like to... to speak to Kay, to give him back what I took away, to make peace with him, if I can. Many things were wrong between us, before ever Loholt came to court. Perhaps they can be put right, if Kay will wear my ring again."
Gawain drew off the ring and dropped it into Arthur's palm.
"Kay loves you," he said. "Nothing in this world or the next can ever change that."

"I've missed you," he (Gareth) said. "But all's well now. We0ve found you, and it's over."
Kay's bewildered look returned. "No. I'm still disgraced. I can't... how can I believe you?"
Gareth held his hand tightly. "Arthur has sent for you. Your name is still on the Table."[...]
Kay still kept his eyes fixed on Gawain, as if he could read the story in his face. "Arthur... wants me?"

"Fool!" she said. "Do you think this is truly Arthur? Or is it a demon that takes his shape? Remember Roche Dure, Kay! Strike, and kill!"
[...] he(Kay) would not raise it (the sword) against Arthur, not even against the appearance of Arthur, not even if the thing tore him apart in the next moment.
"I will not strike my king."
He forced the words out but his voice wavered and died. He sank to the ground.
[... Artù usa Excalibur contro Brisane e poi torna da Kay... mi sono dimenticata di dirvi che l'ala sta andando a fuoco, vero?]
"Kay?" Incredulous, he looked up into the amber eyes of his king. Brisane was gone, and Arthur was still Arthur.
"You're hurt," the king said. "Can you walk?"
Kay tried to get up, but whatever it was that knitted his will to his body had given away. He shook his head. [...]
Gently he (Arthur) raised Kay to his feet and kept an arm around him for support.
Kay tried feebly to thrust him away. "No- the fire..." he said.
"It's all right. There's time."

Arthur let Kay sink to the floor again and sat beside him, pulling Kay back against his shoulder.
"Rest for a minute," he said. "I think no one is ready to receive me, I came so unexpectedly." Kay felt a warm pulse of laughter. "There'll be time soon to have that wound seen to."
Kay could not look at Arthur's face, but he found a voice for what he wanted to say.
"Take me back, lord. I'll be your servant. I'll do anything. But don't send me away again. I shall die. I cannot bear it."
Arthur did not reply to his words, but the arm he held around Kay's shoulder rightened a little.
