Holidays and Discworld

since my last post i have had two four day weekends
the first was spent with Stephania88 on the peninsula
it was great
friday was my grandfather's birthday
he turned 96 and couldn't stop telling people it was his birthday
he had fun
we had fun
and he got to sit next to Stephania88 hehe
it was good seeing the whole family
and to have Stephania88 there as well ( Read more... )

Seems fairly simple, but assuming that it is relatively balanced I wouldn't say it is "not very good." Obviously I have to play it, but it looks fine just reading the rules.

It is balanced in the sense that each player plays each team. Not balanced in that one side requires much more skill than the other, so it is really 1 player playing.

... you don't really want 1 side to require more skill than the other? Because if one side was harder to play then there would be an advantage to playing the other side...

trolls are easier for a begginner
dwarves require more thought
just because you can be good at one side doesn't mean you are going to be good at the other side
that is why you must play both sides

blinvisible played the game once
and didn't want to read the rules before playing
i don't think that is a fair basis to judging the game

Really? Trolls are easier? Surely the unit that can move as much as it wants is far easier to play... but there you go. *shrug*

I guess having to throw drawves around to kill trolls might be the reason... but still.
