i am SO GLAD my girls from Qatar are here! for one, i thought i would never see Ghina again and i was so sad when we all left last summer.. but she's back and i remember why i connected with her so much! i know i told steele this but seriously - i must have been arabic in a past life because everything just felt so natural when i was there. i know how weird this is going to sound but just their scent alone gave me this wonderful feeling of happiness and absolute calm. all of their perfumes echoed the same lush warm musky floral notes which i associate so strongly with their culture. i can't really explain the smell exactly but it is what i remember most about Qatar. at home i still have the incense which i bought in the souk and every time i walk in the door i smell it an just instantly relax... i dunno... it just reminds me of one of the only times in my life where i felt so calm, comfortable and completely happy.

anywhooo! we got to introduce the girls to pumpkin painting and carving this evening which was pretty much hilarious! holidays kind of take on a new novelty when you see someone else experience them for the first time! afterwards we went out for dinner at bahama breeze. i forgot how good that place was! i had lemonade made from real lemons and sweetened with an actual cane of sugar! the chicken i ordered was also fantastic.. and the chocolate moose Ghina and i shared was to die for! tomorrow they're running around town visiting buildings and seeing the dead sea scrolls (so jealous!!) then we're all going for dinner at LCB's house!

theeeeeeeen the roomies and i are going shoppin for the halloween extravaganza on thursday! so much to do both party wise and homework wise.. i really do need to get crackin...
