Well, looks like my downloading days are over. *flails and cries a little but I'll feel better in the long run*

Aren't you angry, though? This is basically censorship paid for by rich people. I'd be pretty pissed off :(

Not really. Afterall, I'm stealing something that I should be paying for. My guilty conciounce... (my spelling is terrible today) is overriding any anger that I might have. Plus, I've been looking for a good reason to stop ayway. Ever since that houswife for busted with a 500 million dollar fine...

lol, I get what you mean. However, I'd like to direct you to this link: http://nerdbastards.com/2012/01/18/neil-gaiman-forms-anti-sopa-league-to-fight-for-our-rights/

It's an interesting read about intellectual property.

It's Hollywood's fault, really. They're the ones who keep refusing to join the digital age and make content available for everyone worldwide. They wouldn't be having this problem if they simply updated their business model to fit their costumers.

For instance, I own all the Marvel movies bought from iTunes and I *still* download the Blu Ray quality copies to make graphics. So am I a thief? I mean, I paid for them... I'm just downloading a different copy because they encrypt the iTunes versions in such a way that I can't make screencaps from them. I support their franchises, and I see the movies at the theater and own the DVDs and digital copies.

I so wish we could chat on the phone without it costing one of us and arm and a leg.

What you say makes very much sense. But... for me it's just not worth the hassel. I download them so I don't have to buy them, plain and simple. That's why I feel bad. I didn't buy thor because I have it on the computer already. Your reasoning is very valid, if people have all done the same things as you have. But since I haven't... you know?

I get that, bb. But I think it's wrong to do it, anyway. Besides, these people will be looking into your private download records to make sure you're not downloading pirated movies or albums. This means they'll see everything you download from photos to whatever. That's not okay. That's an invasion of privacy.

Also, one thing that I'm confused about is... how are they going to go about this? You can't sue an IP address. Anyone could have been using the computer at that time. There's no way to prove which person in the household was downloading the pirated copy. This shit is insane and it's a waste of time and resources.

Between this and the idiot who published her fanfiction it's gonna be one hell of a week for fandom. Ugh.

wait, someone published fanfiction?

Yep. They wrote a Twilight fanfic and did a search and replace with the names and published as an original story. It's on the New York Times best selling list.

This could make or break the fandom world, man. If Meyer sues it could set an uncomfortable precedent.

PS: Working on the mix cover. Don't know if it'll be done by tonight. My muse is being capricious.

I glanced at that boo a few weeks ago and thought it was the stupidest thing ever written just based on the premise, lol.

And, woot!
