My paper on the relationship between interior design and floral design. If I could figure out how to use a cut(which i repeatedly tried to do and failed miserably at)I would have put it behind one.As it is,heres my paper.Let me know what you think.

Interior designers and floral designers, or florists, sometimes will work together to create a comforting environment. My role as the interior designer is to position furniture, choose appropriate textiles, and select an array of corresponding colors. A florist is responsible for the placement of cut live, dried, or silk flowers in a vase, basket or container. Many florists are interior designers as a secondary position and vice versa. On occasion, a room will call for a floral arrangement. There are also special events, such as weddings, when a florist and I will need to pool resources. Both professions are based upon the satisfaction of the client. We will perform interviews, write a design plan, and regularly check in with the client for approval. My day as an interior designer may begin by contacting clients for agreement on textiles, paint colors, and furniture. I may also call new clients for first time appointments. I will fill my day with shopping for new products, visiting a client’s home in progress, and studying new materials for inspiration. A florist may occupy their time with making and delivering arrangements, meeting with customers, and studying floral design material. My position will require me to collaborate with florists on a recurring basis. We will create a written and drawn plan to tailor to the client’s needs. This plan will be fashioned from artistic collaboration and more importantly, client interviews. The client will be asked a series of questions based upon personal taste, recurring themes in their home, and special needs. We may also provide materials to the client for insight. The plan can then be drafted by the florist and me to include all the client’s preferences. A drawn plan, usually drafted in colored pencil, will show a portrait of how the room is projected to look when finished. When a client is satisfied with the presentation, the next step is to implement the plans. I would begin my work by visiting the workspace and taking measurements for the room, furniture, wallpaper, window treatments, and open spaces. I would then go shopping for corresponding items. The florist would be in charge of arranging preselected flowers in appropriate containers. The florist will usually have a deadline for when the flowers need to be delivered to the work site. They need to be careful not to arrange the flowers too soon and risk wilting. Before the room can be completed, it needs to be analyzed consistently by the client for flawlessness. The room, in order to achieve perfection, must provide the customer with a sense of comfort when they enter. When the room is ready to be finalized, the florist will deliver the arrangement and set it up based on my instruction. The room should have a sense of balance and harmony. The partnership of an interior designer and florist is of great value to the design community and will remain a staple for years to come.
