Spending New Year's in Columbus with what I basically consider my second family was pretty fun this year. We went to the mall yesterday and hung out, and then played Rock Band on the PS3 and watched the Simpsons movie and Night at the Museum. We also got the game Would You Rather....? and that was a shit load of fun. I love games that make you laugh. It was just a good day overall. Not to mention the feast! Laura made artichoke dip, seafood dip in a bread bowl, cheese and crackers, a veggie tray, salmon and cream cheese on baguettes, these weird taco turnovers, and lots of cookies. My momma bought me Raspberry Smirnoff Ice and these Tahitian coolers, but both were pretty sweet and not too good. I didn't realize they were flavored malt beer when I picked them out. The night was saved by blended Mudslides though. I had three full cups of that and then ran around outside lighting fireworks. Spaz-tastical. I am not sure why everyone is always so excited about the actual ball drop in Times Square. Ryan Seacrest and Carrie Underwood, woohoo. Shoot me now. Carrie Underwood is beautiful and can sing very well, but I just hate the shit she sings. Oh well.
Anyways, we went to Laura's mom's condo for dinner today. She makes the best food because she is hungarian. Lots of pork and stuffed cabbage, but also the best mashed potatoes and sauerkraut and spaetzles. Plus some yummy salad, cranberries, and rolls. Delicious. I got to play with their new giant schnauzer puppy. She is crazy and I felt bad for her because they just had her ears cropped. I fucking hate that. That's the same as plastic surgery. It's all for vanity. It in no way helps anyone. Just flush your money down the toilet now. Anywho, we then played the new Monopoly with the electronic banking and debit cards. I really hated it. You can't really keep track of your money and it is just time consuming.
We left around 3 because a storm was moving into the north and we didn't want to get caught in it. Yeah, no such luck. The highway was absolutely slammed. There were tons of accidents and the roads were shit. It snowed about 4 inches in a 2 hour period, and it's even worse now. Oh well, at least we are home now.
