i wanna thank those who made it up to Kingston this weekend (you know who you are). i'm really glad you could make it. i had a blast and won't soon forget frisbee in the snow (especially cause it evokes memories and expectations of frisbee at the beach). i hadn't played a good game of egyptian ratscrew or a four-player round of the labyrinth game in far too long. i never knew we had a st. paddies day parade with bubble-suv and all. i know none of you will believe me when i say it, but when you left, everything froze. the pathway around the house up to the stairs is solid, crunchy, and lacks a sizable meu, the sidewalks are either dry or solidified slush, and yes, roxane, it stopped dripping. it seems that you folks bring the warm weather with you. i for one think this theory is worth testing, especially if the wolfe island bakery keeps ample pies in stock. plus, we have an extra fuse in case y'all want to make more trouble.
in conclusion, you know there's wind afoot in Kingston when;
...the puddles on the sidewalk are slanted.
...you're leaning over on your bike more than 5 degrees and not turning.
...you're sweating in your winter coat but don't dare open it for fear of too much drag.
...you sit up on your bike when the wind is at your back so your torso can act as a sail.
...it always sounds, even through a santa-hat, like a speeding car is on your tail.
...you prefer a gradual climb to downhill with a headwind.
...you discover most of your wardrobe lets the wind through as if it were tissue-paper.
...windchill is more than a nuissance.
