I finally read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, by Stieg Larsson. I tried to make myself wait and not read them too quickly, but I only somewhat succeeded in that (I read the entire third book last night, after dashing out to the bookstore to get it before dinner).

I watched the first movie yesterday, actually. I usually hate it when movies are adapted from books I really like because tptb inevitably change stuff. I liked the movie, though. They did change some details and leave out some characters (there are a LOT of characters in the first book), but none of that bothered me. There were 1 or 2 things I thought they shouldn't have done but it might play out differently in the next 2 movies, so we'll see.

I think you should read the book first, though. For one thing, there's some....intense...stuff....(lol I don't want to give anything away!), and I was horrified even when reading it. Seeing it is, of course, worse. So if you read the book first, you would be prepared.

Also, yes, the movie is in Swedish with English subtitles, and I feel like if you read the book first, it's easier to know what's going on/keep track of things. Because...you know....reading WHILE watching a movie? soooooooo hard. If you've read the book first, I think it's easier to keep up. And if you get distracted and aren't reading the subtitles for a minute or so, what's the difference, really, you still know what's going on.
