Lake Superior is so fricking beautiful and huge. And hey, check out my new glasses!

It was exciting to travel for work this month. I headed to Duluth for a mental health conference. The conference was AMAZING and taught me a lot of practical skills, and a few sessions even made me think about stuff in my personal life and get all reflective. The weather was gorgeous; I can't imagine a better time of year to hang out on Lake Superior and enjoy the crisp bite in the air but lots of beautiful sunshine. Cory tagged along with me and entertained himself during the day while I was at work, and then at night we ate and drank like KINGS. I can't believe how good the food and beer is in Duluth. We had top-notch, delicious, inexpensive meals every day. I could reimburse all my expenses, so that was even better. It was a wonderful little get-away, for sure.

Yeah, that about sums up Taco Crawl

This month we also did the 2nd annual Taco Crawl! We started at a heavily Latino-based food court, then made our way down E Lake on bikes, stopping to sample tacos at every stop. My final tally is as follows:
*chicharrón [pork rind/skin] pupusa from Burrito Mercado
*chicharrón pensado taco from Los Ocampo (it tasted like a cross between pepperoni and chorizo!)
*al pastor taco from Taqueria la Hacienda
*vegetarian taco from the place that used to be Pineda on E Lake near the highway
*vegetarian Doriotos loco taco from Taco Bell (shut up, don't judge me)
*margaritas, chips and salsa from Pancho Villa

music shows
Dirty 3 at the Cedar Cultural Center. This show had a rough start, and it went on for way too long, but that didn't stop it from being a great one! Warren Ellis is a madman, and the sound of his violin is unearthly.

I didn't finish any books; I'm still cranking away at a few long ones.
