I didn't really love any of the movies I saw this month, and didn't even like many of them.
Movies
Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 1 - I forgot to mention that our friend downloaded this and made us watch it at Thanksgiving. Just horrible! why have I seen all of these horrible movies??
Horrible Bosses - Dumb, mean, pointless movie. I disliked almost everything about it except Charlie Day.
Tree of Life - This was good and moving and all, but it almost seemed like a parody of Malick movies/art cinema at times. There was definitely a point where I said to myself, "Come ON."
Cave of Forgotten Dreams - I wish I could've seen this in 3D but it didn't play in 3D anywhere in Mpls. Pretty good, and someone both more interesting then I thought it would be yet just the amount of boring I expected.
Puppet Master - God, this movie is slow. At one point, Theresa moaned, "I'd leave if I wasn't the one showing this!" The puppets are cool, but there's like a whole hour of the movie with no puppets! I accidentally cheered at a rape scene, oops.
Amer - I wasn't that impressed with this retro Euro-type horror movie, but a lot of folks like it. I liked it more once it was done and I had time to think about it and puzzle out the bit of plot, but in the moment it just seemed like 90 minutes of slightly cool images moreso than a movie.
Fright Night remake - Dumb, but better than it probably should be. Fine to watch for mindless silliness.
2000 Maniacs - Entertaining at times, weirdly gruesome, but it really dragged. What can you except from an HG Lewis movie I guess!
Basic Instinct 2 - I don't know why this movie exists. It is definitely one that's so bad that it's actually kind of funny, but don't let that entice you into seeing it. It was funny that the main character, a psychologist, was constantly fooled and manipulated by every single person in the movie. You can't even keep track of how many times his allegiance is swayed. Cory rented this because he loooves David Thewlis. Well, I hope D Thewlis made about a million bucks from this and is laughing all the way to the bank.
