ALL THAT REMAINS is too amazing to be true. like, holy crap. when they opened their set with 'Become the Catalyst' I almost died. It's one of my favourite songs of theirs. Also, I never would have expected them to play 'Regret Not' because it's instrumental. wowwwwwwwwwww. WOWWWWWWWWWW.
when i left for montreal, i was convinced i would get lost. but i eventually got there and saw my beautiful Jenny again, we had tons of fun. i got the same bag as her, and ran amok in Montreal. good fun. also, right after buying merch, we ran into the drummer from The Human Abstract (who were also amazing, btw, although unfortunately they didn't play 'Self Portraits of the Instincts' which is one of my favourite songs) and he took us backstage, which was amazing. we chatted up Nathan and their bassist for the most part. and then Phil from All That Remains came out from his dressing room and i almost died. then i met him. yay! as did their bassist, which was also amazing.
THE HUMAN ABSTRACT was amazing. Set was perfect, and Nathan was bananas on stage (he seemed so tame downstairs when Jenny and I were talking to him). Later on, their bassist said he saw us in the crowd when they were playing. Sweeeet.
MISERY SIGNALS also had a sick set. It got pretty crazyyyyyy. It was awesome.
ALL THAT REMAINS was just....spectacular. They blew my mind. Set list included Become the Catalyst, Not Alone, This Calling, Focus Shall Not Fail, Tattered on my Sleeve, Regret Not, The Weak Willed, Six, The Air That I Breathe, For Salvation, etc. Their encore was We Stand. Totally amazing. The only song I wish they had played but they didn't was Whispers (I Hear You) but their set was still unbelievable. I'm so happy I went.
It turns out I'm going back to Montreal on Wednesday with Chris to see DragonForce and Killswitch Engage, which will also be a sick sick sick show. Yaaaaaaaay!
I'm sick and I feel like I'm dying though. And I have 20 pages of essays due by Wednesday. Wahhhh.
