Ficlet: Freedom Interrupted

I keep saying I’ll never write another fanfic again, but I always do. I just keep finding ways to get around HPB, which doesn’t make me want to write fanfic. It makes me want to read book seven. Anyway, here’s a ficlet that doesn’t feature Angelina or Montague. I’m getting soft when it comes to other characters.

Ah, the old post-war slavery idea. One day I'll stop being lazy and write a full length fic with that scenario. I love it, and I do believe the wizarding world is amoral enough to actually do it.

Anyway, it was Marcus and Katie so my mind went straight to the gutter instead of appreciating your bleak ending.

So now that you've written Marcus and Katie in the same fic, dare I hope that you'll eventually write Marcus/Katie?

I love this cliche. I was reading a slash version of it and I asked myself why there isn't a het version of it. Then again, I don't read much het so it's likely out there and I've never seen it. I'd love to your take on the idea.

My mind screams that I'll never write Marcus/Katie, but I know better than to make blanket statments. I always end up doing what I said I wouldn't do.

So, if you state you won't write M/K, you'll end up writing it? In that case, type after me: I will not write Marcus/Katie fic. ;)

There is at least one het version of the "good guys enslaving the defeated Death Eaters" idea, but since it wasn't very good, I won't waste your time by linking to it. It glossed over the hatred and jumped straight into the attraction, which made unsatisfactory characterization worse.
