Character's name and age: Leonard “Leo” Mite; 15
Organization XIII member in past life: Luxord
Physical description: Leo has platinum blonde hair that is often slicked back except for a few stray hairs that fall in his eyes and he constantly has to push out of the way of his ice blue eyes. He generally wears tank tops ranging in a variety of colors with a shirt unbuttoned over that, usually black and a pair of khaki slacks or just blue jeans. He loves wearing sunglasses and has two small silver hoops in his left ear despite his parents’ disapproval. Leo is kind of pale because he likes to spend a lot of time inside playing video games or doing word puzzles. His build is kind of small and he’s rather scrawny for his age. He doesn’t have an accent but for some reason when he gets riled up or if he starts getting really serious he slips into what would be considered a British accent…not even he is sure why.
Personality: Leo is rather quiet and likes to just take things easy. He can be sly at times and is often seen with a half smirk on his face. Leo has a thing for classic literature and puzzles and when he’s doing one, he HATES to be disturbed. While slow to anger, he can often get carried away sometimes once he hits the ‘breaking point.’ Some may find his flippant attitude annoying but Leo just doesn’t really care for anyone that can’t provide him with a good challenge.
History: Leo Mite grew up in a small family of five, his two parents and two younger sisters, Tabitha or Tabby and Elizabeth or Liz, who were twins five years younger than Leo himself (and he’s the only one who can seem to tell them apart). His father was a librarian, which is where he first got his love for classic literature because that was what his father brought him up on. His mother on the other hand owned a club/bar so she mostly stayed home during the day and took care of him and his siblings before going off to work. They were not very strict in their raising of him and his sisters (not that they didn’t have their disagreements when Leo came home with pierced ears). Despite a few squabbles, there is one thing that has been a constant in Leo’s home growing up…at the end of every week, the family would get together for “game night.”
As such Leo grew to have a very strong family bond which could be the reason for his lack of friends seeing as he is so close to them and doesn’t see the need for anyone else. Starting to feel the awkwardness of this in high school though, Leo begins to make slight rebellions against his parents (ie the ear piercing) and begins to shut them out. His parents are surprised by the sudden change in behavior but decide that letting this “phase” take its course is the best solution at the moment.
RP sample (third person): Leo bit the bottom of his lip in concentration as he continued to flip the card over and over in his hand. He was sitting on the floor of his bedroom before a small table. On the table was a grand construction of cards in the form of a house. Leo was nearing the last of his cards and he didn’t want all his work to be for nothing. The placement of this card was of dire importance. Reaching forward slowly he began to set the card atop the house when suddenly the door to his room burst open causing him to jerk forward, cards flying everywhere.
He sighed, “Should have seen THAT coming,” before turning around to see who it was to come barging into his room. His glare immediately softened as he realized one of the twins, Liz by the looks of it, and she was teary eyed, “What is it Liz?”
Liz sniffled, rubbing at her eyes and Leo sighed, he knew he wasn’t going to get anything out of her at this rate. He pushed himself up off the floor and moved to her, putting a hand on her shoulder, “Liz you’re going to have to stop crying if you want me to help.”
“It’s…It’s Dice,” Liz said between soft sobs.
Leo sighed; he hated that stupid cat…why his parents felt they had to purchase it for Liz he never would understand…the cat was really more trouble than it was worth, “Let me guess…Dice got stuck in the tree again.”
Upon seeing Elizabeth’s nod, he rolled his eyes and then moved forward to leave the room, “Come on then…let’s go fetch that cat.”
Journal sample (first person): The cat that mum recently bought for the twins got stuck in a tree again today. I don’t understand why the cat continues to climb the trees if it knows that it will not be able to get down once it is up there. Of course I was the one to fetch it out…the girls always turn to me when it comes to getting the cat out of the tree. I don’t see why really, since Tabby is just as capable of getting up that tree as I am (possibly even more so since she is FAR more athletic than myself).
On another sour note the rescuing of the cat was the cause of my card house to tumble. Am I never going to be able to finish that blasted thing? This was the fourth time this week that I have been interrupted in the construction of my house of cards.
Perhaps I should talk to Tabby and Liz about knocking before they come into my room…
Well enough of that, I want to get another chapter read of this book before I go to bed…and I have to wake up early to start painting in the kitchen…the cat’s probably going to mess that up as well.
