Another Mum update.
She came out of ITU in Guys only to go back in 2 days later with severe septicaemia. After some fantastic care there and some very expensive treatment (antibodies worth 9000 pounds a dose, twice a day for 4 days (which she deserved)) she came back out onto a 'normal' ward at Guys. Then yesterday afternoon she was moved down to our local hospital in Ashford where she is on a ward for some chest physio and rehabilitation. She is (touch wood) much better. The one week from op to home has turned into well over three weeks now and has been the hardest time of my life, what with work, Gran and the dog all being masive concerns, and coming so soon after the death of my Mum's sister.
I've certainly learned who true friends and family are, that's for sure. And that isn't a dig at anyone on LJ. I'm talking about people who I've known nearly all my life and who I count as some of my best friends in the world, and who have barely sent a text in months, let alone called or visited. Yet there are others who I don't speak to from one month to the next who have rallied round, given my family places to stay whilst in London, sent cards and helped in so many different ways. This has been a life changing event in many aspects, and one of them is I will be reevaluating who is important to me and who I need to lose. And also I'll be looking at how I can be a better friend to people too, as it goes both ways.
Now If I can beg your prayers one more time please. My family dog, Tolly, is ancient and ill and I just can't bear the grief of losing him on top of eveything else right now. If you can keep him in your thoughts please. Thanks lovelies.
