"Lets get orientated!"

Today was Day One and it was faaaabulous. My hair behaved itself, and looked pretty good, all things considered. Outfitwise, I decided on my dark blue South Korea's Got Seoul tee (I went for the 'Funny, if you are clever enough to understand it' shirt) with my army cargo capris, and chocolate brown Chucks, with a brown hoodie thrown overtop and it was a PERFECT choice. I was thrilled to see that everyone in the class was dressed casually, and that no one had done themselves up just to come to class. I mean, I'm all for being fashionable, but... this was better, today. Also, everyone looked (and is) pretty cool, no one is hugely punk or emo or alternative, but artsy, kindof. And there are only maybe... five girls in the program - including me - which I am TOTALLY okay with. I tend to get along better with guys than girls anyways, usually. We watched a few student films from previous years, which were incredible, and a demo from Apple's fucking amazing film editing program called Final Cut Pro, which completely blew my mind with its amazing-ness. The things that I will be able to do (once I learn how, of course) with this program are comparable to what is done in multi-million dollar blockbuster films. Really and truly. Think Lord of the Rings special effects. And more. Incredible. Anyways, we watched some stuff, then we were put into groups based on our favourite film genre (my fave -today- was Comedy, although I'll watch anything, and love almost everything), where we, as a group, had to choose our collective favourite film/best film of the genre, and explain why. It was HAAARD to do, let me tell you. We all rattled off hilarious movies, both new and classic, like Anchorman, The Princess Bride, Airplane, Clerks, Waiting, National Lampoons, Dumb and Dumber... the list goes on and on and on. We eventually decided on Airplane, which I've only seen once, and didn't find to be that groundbreaking, but I decided to go with the majority this time, because I didn't have any other suggestions. I have a very hard time picking favourites, of anything. Sigh.

Anyways, I met a bunch of people, and ended up hanging out with three guys, all from out of town, for most of the day. Not as potential love interests, just as semi-aquaintances. Platonic. It was fun, we laughed a LOT, and I'm very excited for tomorrow. Theres one guy in the class, hes older, and very blonde and very thin... his name is Xylon. Really and truly. "Just call me Xy", he said. I gaped, and said something along the lines of "Wowwww... you're like a Star Trek character, but non-alien and non-fictional." Hah, Je suis le crazy sometimes. Delightful. So tomorrow the film teachers are leading the entire program on a Skip day, where none of us go to our classes, including the teachers who are supposed to be teaching them, and we all hang out in a park and "get to know eachother", by playing frisbee and having a barbeque. Funnnnnnn!

I spent a lot of my non-school day at the hospital with Lydia, today, which I'll explain in more detail tomorrow. I'm tired, and have class (eee!) in the morning.
