I'm offically okay again. Derek ended up getting raped (metaphorically) by Uhaul so he doesn't leave town til tomorrow morning, and we've had several more really nice goodbye chats. We both feel that regardless of how much time passes, and regardless of how long we don't see eachother/talk, that as soon as we DO see eachother it will be like nothing changed, and no time has passed. We'll stay close and in touch with eachothers' happenings. So *phew*.
I'm sitting in my room, at my lovely computer desk, drinking a delicious beer (Brahma) from Brazil. Lydia and I discovered that you could mix and match single beers at the lcbo (pronounced lick-bo not l-c-b-o, at least as far as we're concerned...) so we both got 6 random beers from various exotic locations. I just got home from the Fox and the Hedgehog, which is this fabulous little irish pub that I'm head over heels in love with. Especailly on Tuesdays, which is when the Fox has a Kieth's special: double the amount of beer for the price of one. It comes in this ENORMOUS mug (a "schooner") and I have never seen so much of my beloved in once place, for so cheap. I am SO down with lots of Keiths at a low-ish price. Yes please. Anyways, I went to the Fox tonight because it was my dear friend Shane's 19th birthday, so I bought him an Irish Car Bomb (recently introduced to Lydia and I by Derek), which is a short glass of Guinness in which you drop a shot glass of Kaluha and whiskey. The result is incredibly high in alcohol content, and equally high in delicious taste - it tastes so so so much like ice cream, randomly and inexplicably. So Chelsea, when you turn 21 (God you Americans have wierdly high drinking ages :P) OR get a chance pre-21, you MUST try one. One gets you happily buzzed, and three are all it takes to get absolutely smashed. J'adore Irish Car Bombs.
Danielle and I went to get chicken strips from Wendy's last night at midnight, and ended up sitting in the parking lot, talking about absolutely everything under the sun (boys, school, family, travelling, money, friendships...) until about 3:30. She opened at Starbucks at 7am, and I worked at 9. It was more than slightly ridiculous...
Anyways, I'm going to go to bed. After I troll the internet for awhile, and after I finish this delicious beer. I'm meeting Lydia at Starbucks (aka Stabbu's) at 8:30 so we can have a coffee before going to the college to buy books/parking passes/sign up for Grub Crawl/aimlessly wander around the campus, hopefully learning our way around in the process. Wish me luck.
irish car bomb,
brahma,
goodbye
