i <3 Sahara Hotnights
monday i woke up feeling like shit. i was coughing more, stuffed up, my throat was swollen, i was FREEZING, and i couldnt hear out of one ear. so i went to work anyway. complained to gail a bit and got nothing done before heading out to brit lit where i shivered and disgusted my group my talking in detail about what was outlined in the selection we had to read. Steve mostly laughed but the other kid (Mike?) was like gonna puke. i was shivering os badly i think my lips turned blue.
Before Journalism I picked up a paper intending to bitch to Dave about the misprint in my story. As in the last four lines got cut. i had to sit through the whole lecture ready to turn into a popsicle and just not caring what these tard freshman had to say about interviewing. they all say they were on their high school papers but to me it sounds like they did crap on em. I showed Dave my article and he told me i'd have to bring it up with Rey at the meeting on Wed. because it was either the copy editor's fault or simply a glitch. so i went to lunch royally pissed off and EXTREMELY lightheaded. I looked like i was drunk wavering around.
Mass media went by fast cuz Javi and i talked a lot and he had Blender with him. after class i went to work as per usual. Got NOTHING accomplished again. and went to dinner straight after. i didnt feel too good and ate very little. about 6 i went back to my room to take more cold meds and then meet derek and devin and andy. my mom called but i had to cut her off so i wouldnt be late. when i got to de north we all went and piled in devin's car to go to schuba's downtown. its this tiny little bar where Phantom Planet was playing. I was more excited because the Sahara Hotnights were opening.
And they were FABULOUS. They palyed a 35-40 minute set. I REALLY want their CD now. very good. then after a 15 or 20 min set up/sound check Phantom Planet came on. I know exactly one song they sing so I didn't know what to expect. I wish I could tell you more. But I can't really. They played well I think and I decently enjoyed it. Some songs were pretty lame. I thought they weren't gonna play "California" and it was gonna be another Grandaddy incident but it wasn't. "California" was played during the encore. Thrilled I jumped and giggled in glee.
After the show I MET three of the 4 Sahara Hotnights. Crazy Swedish Drummer was nowhere in sight which is fine by me cuz I think she eats people. Various pecies of apparell were bought and such. We went right home after Derek met some Smashing Pumpkins dude. We were home before midnight which was a Godsend because I had homework to finish up and then I literally passed out on top of my sheets I was so exhausted and EXTREMELY lightheaded.
