Today was extremely productive. Woke up at 7, got out of the house by 8. Went to the town clerk to re-register my car, then to four different mechanics in search of a state inspection for said automobile...all stops were scheduling failures, but I did finally score an appointment for Friday at 1pm. The mechanic in my future has set up shop in a BIG, red, ole cow barn sandwiched between wide swaths of fertile, flowing fields. There are two shiny hydraulic lifts built into the floor of the very clean (by mechanic standards, mind you!) and organized shop. The guys at work were well-groomed (again, by mechanic standards!), alert, helpful and generally down to earth. This is the best vibe I've gotten off an auto repair place since we landed up here, so the inspection is a start. I think I'll further test them out by putting the "hesitation" problem in their hands and let the chips fall from there (NTS: put together about $300-$500 just in case it's bad news). It's needless to say that a good relationship with a mechanic is as necessary as that with one's hairstylist, butcher or tattooist...

In other news, I received a package from Scrappyboy containing my About Dying AB and his Handsigns AB. There is never a shortage of craftiness when he's involved! The work he's done in both is, par usual, stellar! He continually inspires me to hang out with my scissors and glue pot...love it!!
