Why, I can make a pet rock too...

A guy my boss Billy used to work with started his own website: http://howmanyofme.com/

Really simple concept. And so even though he's a lawyer with all sorts of experience and could be making very nice money in his field, he's made this site and it makes just enough for him to live on. The data isn't even accurate but he's getting a healthy sum from a site that requires little, if any, maintenance.

I can't help but be envious and annoyed all at the same time.

You see, I have this dream to invent things. I have some interesting ideas that could be great products. Unfortunately, when I have these moments of brilliance, I typically don't have the time or money to work on a prototype. I also need to learn more about the patent process and how you even begin to approach a company for distribution. My other problem is that for some of these ideas, I know generally how the process 'should' work but I may or may not have the technical expertise to actually create the darn thing.

It's not even that I want to become a millionaire off an idea. I'd just love to be able to make an idea come to life and be useful for others. Yes, despite my subject line, I actually want to make a useful product.

Maybe I can try to find time after the wedding.
