Is it illegal to shoot an underwriter?

Because the underwriter has not completed the package (even though the loan was approved last weekend) we cannot close tomorrow.

We are now set to close next Tuesday.

Our mortgage guy says that he will pay the $400 fee for being late.  Damn straight he will.

I    am    so    pissed.
