just finished the novelization of the screenplay of American Gangster. i love it!! :) Its bout Frank Lucas, an African American heroin drug dealer in 1960's Harlem, who became higher and more respected than the Mafia, smuggling grade a heroin from Southeast Asia in US Military body bags!!! how cool is that!! He even got the US Military into dope haha! Lucas basically owned Harlem that time and was at one point, even raking in a million dollars a day! Living the life of a drug dealer.. hahaha. Bling. Being black and being atop the drug dealing pyramid was an amazing feat, how Lucas was so manipulative to achieve all that was so galeng. Inevitably, he's going to be taken down by some cop (duh) in the end.
Its based on a true story, where actors Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe meet the real Lucas and Roberts before filming! I have such high high high expectations for the movie, i hope its just as edgy and point blank as The Departed.
...anyhoo, going to submit the final120 paper and take my socio finals in a bit. then freedom.
