Weekend wasn't so bad, except when I noticed that Snowfire, my year old boar, wasn't himself. Wasn't eating, fur didn't look normal, rarely drinking, and drooling.
....drooling? Yeah, my mind tilted 90 degrees when I noticed that. Soooo, googling I went and found something that said back molars could overgrown, cause the mouth to not close, unable to eat and drool. All right then. To the vet we went on Tuesday, they stoned him a little so they could see in his mouth and clipped his front teeth. One of his bottom teeth had a crack in it and the vet thought that it would help him a little with eating. Over the weekend, I had force fed him baby food mixed with his food to get something into him and keep him going. He held onto my syringe like no tomorrow and I don't blame him.
Not only did she clip his teeth, but she also did a little examing of him while he was in Lala land. Let's just say that Snow just pulled a Belzer...he's missing one testicle. Or, it's there, but really, REALLY small to the point you don't think he has one. O_0 I...really haven't noticed that before and I'm one who has no problem poking around the family jewels when need be.
You'd think that's all, but wait! There's more! He has an unknown mass of possible fur? hanging in his tummy. So, Dr. Kathy said to give him 3 CCs of mineral oil orally to see if that would get it going. I swear, I thought he was going to blow, but nothing yet. Kathy said she would be taking Snow's file with her to Wuasau, as she was going to a meeting about small pets/pocket pets and Snow's case is interesting. It sure is! :winks and gives thumbs up: Oh, Lordy.
She called back today and says the main talker at the meeting wants to see Snowfire as he needs more work on his teeth and possible big check over his tummy and what his missing testicle means. Either it's normal or something is happening that caused it to disappear. :jazz hands: I'm really hoping that it's not too late to help him as we really need to get an appointment for him in Wuasau, with the small pets vet. She's, like, craving to check him out.
Right now, I have baby food pears mixed with pellets and a food covered, unhappy boar on my lap. Moments ago, I had video taped him with some lettuce so we can show the vet what he does with food. All he's doing is gumming it, moving it around and trying ever so hard to eat it. Makes me sad seeing him like that.
Considering his brother's name is Ice, I might as well call Snowfire Belzer since he's missing a family jewel...sorry Belz.
Sure, we have the weird pets, I'm not ashamed to say that! I have a 7 year old guinea pig that expelled her uterus, two finches that are very aggressive with each other, and a rabbit who's smarter then she seems.
