The Journey

May 21, 2009 21:35

I am sitting in Munawir's kitchen right now, munching asparagus, and waiting for the tea to be ready. We are half way there, after a rather labor intensive day, a near explosive wrong turn, and many many back trackings. It is neat to be here. It just seems very exciting and energetic already. I unfortunately forgot to write Mariah before I left, because I am a bad murid. I will need to do that in the morning before we make the rest of the trek.

Tomorrow, we will be continuing our journey to the Abode of the Message in New Lebanon, New York. We are going up to help rebuild a centuries old Shaker Barn, lead Kirtan, and, I expect, have an incredible time. I am hoping that we will get at least a couple video blogs up while we are there, and we will post the everywhere.

I am already feeling like no matter how many expectations I have put into the trip it is going to end up being even better. I was gonna write more, but right now I keep getting caught up in stories, which seems much more important right now. Bed time soon.

More later.

Hills to climb, sights to see, seas to cross
Friends to make, hands to shake, the world is yours
Foods to taste, sounds to hear, love to feel
Seeds to sew, things to know, fish to reel
Space to quiz, stones to lift, life's a gift

old dvds of great teachers, vilayat khan sufi star, walsh street?, i hate the beltway, munchy asparagus
