So, I swore I would write stories based on our BuffyWolf verse and I just finished the first one.
The rest will be posted to
my site later today or tomorrow afternoon.
Right now, I'm going to bleed my brakes.
The room was pale blue (for a boy!) with a hint of wet paint. Blue sheets on the bed matched the curtains, area rug, and desk accessories. A flat panel monitor sat next to a black and silver tower. Pens, notebooks, and other school supplies were arranged neatly in front of it. Clothes, in his size, were folded into squares and arranged by color and type on the bed, waiting to put away. leX circled the room twice, sliding his fingers along the wall. He sat down on the rug and took off his worn sneakers. He could hear them talking about him, their voices floating up the stairs.
“Mrs. Salvezza, Alexander does have some behavioral problems.”
“Yes,” her voice was low and soft. “I know.”
“He has a very troubled background.”
“Are you trying to talk me out of this?”
There was a pause, maybe surprise. “I just want you to be very aware of the responsibility-“
“I am very aware. I want to…”
“Give him a home?” leX’s caseworker pressed. “He’s had many. He needs stability.”
“He needs a home.”
They droned on, about his academic history, the fires he started, his social problems. Every one of his sins was laid neatly out for his new mother to pass on to Mr. Salvezza. leX laid back on the rug and looked up at the ceiling. It was the textured kind with bits of glitter scattered throughout so they almost looked like stars.
