Chapter 2
I looked into the sky… looking around my surroundings as I saw a person…
He looked into me… but I can’t clearly see its face…
As its body fall from the roof, I can’t make out what that person is trying to say to me…I grabbed a pair of hands and tried to pull…
But it’s no use as I found myself awake in my working desk.
*RRRINGGGGG*
How long is this dream going to annoy me? I rubbed my head in soothing manner and stretched my stiff body
*RRRRRRRRIIINGGGG*
I grumbled before grabbing my phone and answered it “What is it Rei?”
“Ru, how are you doing? and yes… I’m sorry to bother your rest again…”
“It’s okay, what is it? Anything new?”
“We found out that the last 2 murder case is somehow connected. The victim’s death weren’t exactly same… but they were all have a few similarities”
“And that is?”
“They all fall from the 2nd floor building around their time of death”
I sighed as I looked into my messy desk, searching for a certain file “I’ll be there soon”
“uhh… Ru… I hate to say this but… you can’t come here. You have to get back to train Uruha… remember?”
“dammit… I totally forgot…”
“we’ll try to figure things out by our own. Just try to focus on the chief’s order and finish it… I’m actually pretty dying without you”
I chuckled lightly hearing Reita’s words “what’s wrong?”
“All of my subordinates were so damn wuss… screaming like a girl whenever they entered the crime scene…”
“I’d love to see that”
“Ah well… you should do your job. I gotta go now, seems I was the only one who could investigate the crime scene… later Ru!”
“Yeah I’ll see you later…”
I dropped the call as I headed to my bathroom, trying to freshen up my self a bit. When I looked into the mirror, there’s a black silhouette standing right behind me. I turned my gaze around and see nothing.
“dammit… it’s earlier than I thought…” I washed my face as I rushed grabbing my jacket and headed to the police department

“You’re late, Ruki” I found Aoi was greeting me with a bright smile and a not so bright words
“I’m sorry Sir- I mean… I’m sorry Aoi”
“Any good reason?” what the hell??? What is this person trying to do??
“Well… I barely sleep last night and I got another ‘visitor’ this morning…” I halfheartedly answered his question
“Okay then. Any news on Uruha?” Huh? Why is he asking about Uruha?
“No. I’ve just met him yesterday, and I was about to meet him again today”
“Good then because I have a bad news for you. And it’s about your soon-to-be-partner”

He went nuts!! I’ve nearly lost an officer!! Why would he choked the one who feeds him? And it doesn’t happen once!! Almost every person that comes near him is assaulted!! I don’t know why the hell he’s been doing that! But if he doesn’t start acting good soon… I’ll have to put the blame to you. If you’re asking me why, it’s because you’re the one I put in charge to watch him.
I rubbed my forehead as I walked towards Uruha’s room. The long corridor and the silence are making me nervous. I walked putting my head down as I got lost in my thoughts. I turned left until suddenly I bumped into someone.
“Ouch!! Hey!! Are you okay??”
There’s a girl in front of me. Her hair is black and long, I can’t really see her face. I stretched my hand to help her got up from the floor. “Hey… are you okay?? Did I broke something?”
“…………………” The girl is staring at me without saying a word. Her hair is covering her eyes… she stretched her hand to reach mine. I shivered badly when I felt her touch. It’s cold!!! “Oh my God!!! Are you really okay??? Why is your hand freezing??” I started rubbing my hand to warm her. At the same she suddenly trembled and crying.
“Wait here! I’ll call someone to help you!” I was about let go of her hand but she holds my hand, preventing me to go.
“Ruki?? What are you doing there?” I moved my gaze from the girl to the one who’s calling me. “Kai!! How glad I am to see you here!! This girl here seems to be sick!! Can you help me?” I moved my gaze back as I saw no one.
“Huh? What girl?? Only few people could access this corridor and that’s us and the upper class mans”
Oh shit!! Then what the hell was that???
“Ruki, are you alright?”
“……………I’m………okay……I guess…”
“You looked pale, are you sure you’re alright??”
“Yeah. I’m okay…”
“Actually I came here to give you the files about the last case Reita’s been taking care of” he gave me some files
“I’ll take a look at it later, I have to do my job first”
“is it about Uruha?”
“Yeah… you’ve met him?”
“Yes and I got a good souvenir from him” Kai showed his arm to me. There’s a bluish swollen mark around his arm.
“He hit you?”
“Yeah… I’m lucky though… the other man got choked nearly to his death”
“………………I’ll see you around Kai” I patted his shoulder as I walked to Uruha’s room, trying to ignore what had just happened earlier.

“Sir, I suggest you to stay away from him… the last time we came inside, three were hurt and an officer is almost dead”
“It’s okay, I’m the one who’s responsible for him. I have to do this no matter what the risk is.”
“But…”
“Please open his cell’s door”
The room keeper only sighed before unlocking the door “Tell me if anything happens… and please take care of yourself…”
I only nodded before entering Uruha’s room. I closed the door behind me and gasped in shock with the view in front of me. Uruha is most likely treated like a psychoneurotic patient. His body was laid in a bed, with hands and legs were all tied to the bed. He still has his blindfold covering his eyes.
“What the hell??” this is just horrible… I know that he’s dangerous, but it’s not right to treat him like this!!!
“Who are you?” The honey blond suddenly spoke
“……………Hello Uruha… my name is Ruki…”
He only smiled without saying anything else.
“I’ll open the leather that tied you, but you have to promise me that you’ll never attack anyone anymore…”
He nodded. Seeing his reaction, I walked to the bed and untied his body from the bed. He moved into a sitting position.
“So… do you know what is my purpose being here? and… do you know why are you being kept here?”
“She’s following you” I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion… I don’t understand what he meant.
“……………you can see things too?” he nodded “But… how could you see things? I mean… you were always blindfolded all this time”
“Can you come closer? I want to know you…”
“You haven’t answered me yet…” he went silent and shook his head
“I don’t need physical eyes to see ‘them’… can you open my hand?”
“I can’t do that… I’ll have to make sure you’ll behave”
“I won’t do anything… I promise…”
“I’ll hold that word of yours” as I opened the leather that ties his hand.
“Thank you…” he moved closer into me as he put his hands into my face. His hand were tracing my face, rubbing it in a curious manner. He put his thumb on my cheeks as his hand traveled down to my lips.
I was going to open his blindfold until his hand suddenly he grabbed my hand, stopping my first intention
“Don’t!! He’ll come if you do that!!!” His hand is trembling
“Why are you scared? And who’s ‘he’?”
“He always comes and does what he likes… You’re not supposed to be with me!!! Get out!!! Runaway while you can!!” He pushed me away from him and he curled himself in the corner.
“But… I have to train you! It is my job. You have to cooperate with me”
“GET OUT!!!” he screamed and crouched in the corner curling himself even tighter.
“…………I’ll be back when you’re calm” I walked out of the room and closed the door behind me.
“You’re done?” the room keeper asked
“I’ll be back soon”
I walked through the corridor and went to the balcony. I sit on the bench and watch the setting sun as I grabbed my cigarette. Once I lighted it, I moved my fingers to my lips as I sucked on the cancer stick. I rubbed my head as I think about what was happening… the mysterious freshmen, the trembling girl, the connected murders, my weird dreams, and the weirdest is…
“My vision is not dulling…” I talked to myself as I closed my eyes with the back of my hands, trying to relax myself.
Suddenly someone tugged on my arm. I nearly jumped out when a pair of hands touches mine.
“Holy shit!!! What the hell???” I looked back there’s that girl again. This time she was crying louder. She whispered the word “…kill” into my ears sending shivers down to my spine, her hand slowly crept into my neck as if she was trying to choke me. I jumped in surprise until suddenly I found out I was alone in the balcony and it’s already dark. I tried to calm my breath when I found out that I was dreaming.
What the hell is happening with me??? This has never happened before!!
I shook my head trying to move all pessimistic thoughts out of my head. I walked out of the balcony, going back into Uruha’s room.
“Ah you’re back. Kai checked Uruha a while ago and it seems that your visit is giving its result” the room keeper grinned at me
“Huh? What did you mean?”
“He didn’t, attack anyone. He even gave Kai some first aid and said sorry to everyone”
That’s weird… “…………I’m going back in. Did Kai open his blindfold?”
“err… I don’t know”
“……………I’ll see you later” I opened the door and entered the room.
“ruki” the blond man smiled.
“How did you know It was me?”
“You kept your promise” once again he ignored my question
“I didn’t promise you anything” I walked closer to Uruha
“I’m glad you’re back…” he moved his gaze into me, as if he was staring at me.
“How did you healed Kai? Did he open your blindfold?” He only shook his head
“Then how did you do that??”
“Ruki… didn’t I told you? One does not need eye to see” I walked closer to him. I have to make sure whether he’s actually blind or not.
“I’m sorry but I have to open this” I placed my hand into the cloth covering his eyes, and moved it slowly.
“I believed in you” was all that he says before I opened his blindfold
Once the cloth was completely removed from his eyes, he closed his eyes. A few seconds later, he opened his eyes. His left eye was colored gold while the right eye is brown. He’s staring straight right into my eyes, and smiled.
“You’re not blind?” I asked in confusion. He shook his head slowly without breaking the eye contact.
“I’m glad you opened my blindfold” once again he told me things that I don’t understand. I sighed as I opened my book.
“Okay then… I have to tutor you. You have to do everything that I say to you… understood?” he only stared at me without saying anything. “I took that as a yes” I opened the book and looking for a certain pages until suddenly I felt a pair of arms hugging me.
“Uruha!! What are you-??” the blond man fell asleep in my arms. I sighed as I found out it was hopeless to tutor him. I moved his slim body to the bed.
I whispered “I’ll be back tomorrow” into his ears before walking out of the room.
