My flist is composed mostly of people whom I've met through fandom. Most of you are writers, and although I don't always comment on the things you write, I do read them. I notice styles, details, certain turns of phrase that are uniquely...you. Or at least I think I do

Alphonse Elric waited patiently outside the large building. It had been a rather long time since his brother had gone inside and he wondered what was so important that almost every State Alchemist had been called to Central for a meeting.
Just then, the doors flew open, and a very aggravated looking Ed stomped outside. "How did it go, Nii-san?" Al asked, leaping up from where he sat on the edge of the stairs with a clank.
"Horrible," Ed replied, frowning. "For whatever reason they want each of us to research different religions, probably so they can understand them better in case there's a war or something. They said it was to help maintain peace, but knowing what I know about these guys, I'm not sure what they're up to."
"Well, what are you supposed to research?" Al asked, trying to keep his brother from suspecting something foul going on in what was mostly likely completely harmless.
"Take a look," he answered glumly, handing him the paper.
"Christianity?" Al read.
"Yeah," Edward answered. "I've never even heard of it! What sort of a crazy group of people do you think it could be?"
"Well," his brother began, sounding unsure, "I guess the first place we have to look is the library. Maybe they have some writings from people in that belief that you could read."
"Yeah, if they even know how to write," Ed mumbled.
"This is everything I could find," Al said, placing a small stack of books in front of his older brother. "Do you think it'll be enough?"
"It'll have to be," Ed replied, flipping through one of the books at random. "From what I've heard, this big book over here has all of the basics in it, so I should probably start there."
"You mean that 'Bible' thing over there?"
"Yeah," Ed answered, resting his head in his hands. "Geez, this is gonna take forever to go through!"
"Well, it could be worse," Al replied helpfully. "I'm sure there are harder ones out there. Do you know what Colonel Mustang got?"
"No one in active duty got assigned anything," Ed growled. "I can just see the smug look on his face right now. That jerk's probably the one who told them to assign the most obscure religion in the world to me! I can't stand that guy!" he finished with a nice punch to the table.
"Uh, why don't we start reading?" Al suggested nervously.
(And it all goes downhill from there...)
